Faculty research areas
The Faculty of Business Administration (Hamburg Business School) has carved out 3 major research areas in which researchers from various backgrounds within the field of business administration and other disciplines collaborate on important issues.
Some of the faculty’s research activities are concentrated in research centers:
- Hamburg Center for Health Economics (HCHE, Health Economics)
- Maritime Economics Research Center (Logistics and Digital Services)
- Hamburg Center for Actuarial Science (HZV)
- Research Center for Media and Communication (RCMC, Marketing)
DFG Research Unit 1452
Since October 2014, the faculty has been home to the first-ever research unit to work exclusively in the discipline of business administration with funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG). The project title is "Marketing of Hedonic Media Products in the Age of Digital Social Media".
Research cooperation for health management
In September 2010, Universität Hamburg and the blood donor service of the German Red Cross for northeastern Germany jointly initiated the research cooperation for health management marketing. One of its aims is to support early career researchers in the field of health management marketing. Researchers will focus primarily on effective marketing measures to aid the acquisition and long-term retention of blood donors.
