Sustainability Research Map
The sustainability research map provides an overview of sustainability research at Universität Hamburg. The sustainability research map is organized in line with the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are grouped into 6 thematic areas.
The business economists at Universität Hamburg are ranked fourth among all German universities in the current WirtschaftsWoche Ranking. If you look at the entire German-speaking region with Switzerland and Austria, we rank seventh in research performance. The ranking evaluates the research performance of around 200 universities based on the articles published in specialist journals.
The ranking clearly shows that the Hamburg Business School occupies a leading position in the research landscape. Research orientation will remain at the heart of the schools strategy in the future.
For more information on the ranking, please see WirtschaftsWoche from January 11, 2019, Issue 3, pp. (22-23).
The Handelsblatt Ranking is the most regarded research ranking for business administration in the German-speaking area. In the last ranking from December 2014, business economists from Universität Hamburg were ranked second behind the TU Munich within Germany. Including faculties of Switzerland and Austria, the Hamburg researchers rank sixth. In comparison to 2012, we improved both nationwide and in the overall ranking by three positions and continue the upward trend of the past ten years impressively.
Universität Hamburg is one of the top addresses in Germany in business administration. This success was made possible by a clear strategic research orientation with the establishment of the three main research areas: health economics, logistics & digital services as well as marketing & communication. The excellent result underlines the central importance of business research both for the university and for the economy of the Hanseatic city of Hamburg.
