HZV
The HZV (Hamburger Zentrum für Versicherungswissenschaft = Hamburg Center for Insurance Science) is the interdisciplinary center for insurance science research and teaching at the University of Hamburg. It is jointly managed by the chairs of:
- Risk Management and Insurance
- Insurance Mathematics (Versicherungsmathematik)
- Insurance Law (Insurance Law)
The primary responsibility of the HZV is to actively develop, implement, and promote interdisciplinary approaches in insurance science research, as well as in education and training in Hamburg. A key aspect of the center’s mission is to build, maintain, and strengthen close partnerships with insurance companies and the Association for the Promotion of Insurance Science in Hamburg across all areas of its work. This includes collaborating on empirical research projects and joint efforts in continuing education.
The HZV website aims to serve as a shared platform for insurance science in Hamburg, documenting the work of the center and its partners, informing the interested public about current events, and supporting students in insurance-related degree programs.
