We are often asked for our recommendations on how to prepare optimally for exams. In general, we recommend thorough preparation and review of the lectures, including careful reading of the required literature. If a lecture is based on one or more textbooks, we also recommend working through the exercises in the respective chapters.
Approach your studies with a problem-oriented mindset and critically engage with the lecture content when preparing for an exam. Exams in the focus field Finance, Banking & Insurance are not purely “knowledge-recall” exams. Rather, a certain level of transfer and application of knowledge is required to answer the questions (the expected level of transfer varies between bachelor’s and master’s courses).
To give you an idea of the types of exams in the focus field, we have uploaded sample exams from previous semesters for all regularly offered courses. For courses in the “Current Issues” category, which are not offered on a regular basis, sample exams may not always be available.
The provided exams are intended to support independent preparation. No sample solutions will be published. Please understand that the research associates of the respective chairs will also not answer questions regarding the exams.
