Brief Biography
Sebastian Neumann-Böhme is a post-doctoral researcher (Post-Doc) at the University of Hamburg and core member of the Hamburg Center for Health Economics.
He studied social economics at the University of Hamburg and Temple University in Philadelphia (USA). He continued his education at the Hamburg Center for Health Economics, where he received an MSc in Health Economics & Health Care Management. He also obtained an MSc in International Health Policy (Health Economics) at the London School of Economics. Prior to his PhD, he worked for a large consultancy advising clients in the public and health sectors.
During his PhD at the Erasmus School of Health Policy and Management at Erasmus University Rotterdam, he was a Marie Sklodowska Curie Research Fellow in the European training network Improving Quality of Care in Europe (IQCE). After completing his PhD, he started working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Hamburg Center for Health Economics.
His research focuses on behavioural and experimental economics and health economics research on the COVID-19 pandemic as one of the authors of the ECOS project.
Current functions:
- Since 2023 Trusted Lecturer and member of the Selection Committee of the Heinrich Böll Foundation's Study Programme.
- Since 2019 member of the management team of the network Behavioural Experiments in Health Economics (beh-net).
