Join us as a PhD researcher (f/m/d) at the Institute for Sustainable Logistics and Mobility at the University of Hamburg Business School on a full-time, fully funded contract (EGR 13 TV-L), starting on 15 September 2025.

You will contribute to AuLoKomp (Autonomes, Flexibles IntraLogistik-Kompaktlager), a research project analyzing next-generation compact storage systems driven by algorithmic optimization of energy consumption and access time.

Alongside your dissertation, you will be involved in teaching — an essential and rewarding part of the role that supports your growth as both a researcher and communicator, and offers the chance to engage deeply in academic life.

This position builds on our core research areas, applying both empirical and advanced analytical methods from Operations Research and Behavioral Economics to real-world challenges in transport and logistics systems.
