Representatives of the Port of Singapore, amongst others, members of MPA (Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore) and PSA Singapore as well as representatives of various ministries visited the city of Hamburg, taking part in a delegation trip. In workshops on "Innovation and Digitalization in Port Communities" and "Terminal Automation", Prof. Stefan Voß, Dr. Leonard Heilig and Dr. Eduardo Lalla-Ruiz from IWI introduced and discussed methodical approaches and prototypes for the digitization and optimization of logistics processes within the port and within supply chain management. The main focus was on methods from the areas of data science/machine learning and combinatorial optimization. Together with the delegation they also visited the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA), Kuehne + Nagel, and a container terminal at HHLA. During the evening event, the delegation was warmly welcomed by State Councilor Matthias Kock to the Guest House of the Senate of Hamburg.
