On June 27, 2023, the cross-sectoral expert event "Supply Chain Transparency in Politically Sensitive Contexts" took place at the Umweltforum in Berlin (organized by Germany’s National Action Plan for Business and Human Rights (NAP) Sector Dialogue office / GIZ). Janine Allenbacher presented interim results of a Delphi study on future strategies of multinational companies to protect human rights in conflict-affected areas. The data is based on a moderated expert survey and discussion with nearly 70 selected actors from companies, civil society, academia and politics. During the presentation, participants gained insights into companies’ future cooperation strategies with different stakeholder groups and how the experts assess the positive impact of different measures as well as the feasibility for companies to implement them. Afterwards, the participants were able to exchange their views on the results during a panel discussion and an interactive workshop. The study is being conducted together with two other doctoral researchers from FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg, Jennifer Adolph and Matthias Fertig.
