Mareike Lisker (she/her) is a Doctorate Researcher in the Data Science group at the University of Hamburg and the Social Political Data Science group at the University of Applied Sciences Berlin. She is jointly supervised by Prof. Anne Lauscher and Prof. Helena Mihaljević.
Prior, Mareike Lisker obtained her B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Technical University Berlin as well as a B.A. in Philosophy and Linguistics from the Humboldt-University of Berlin. In 2023, she finished her M.A. in Theory and History of Science and Technology at the TU Berlin. In her thesis, she posits that the demand for more digital literacy places an onerous responsibility on individual users when it comes to the control of their own data, as they are structurally ill-equipped to meet that responsibility in face of all-encompassing tracking infrastructures. In 2024, Lisker was awarded Junior Fellow by the German Informatics Society.
