Sukannya Purkayastha (she) is a Ph.D. student at the Ubiquitous Knowledge Processing Lab, Technical University Darmstadt. She is jointly supervised by Prof. Dr. Iryna Gurevych and Prof. Dr. Anne Lauscher.
Sukannya completed her Master’s degree in NLP at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India in 2021. Her Master’s thesis involved researching various aspects of drug repurposing using NLP techniques. During her studies, she completed a research internship at IBM Research, Bangalore where she worked on Knowledge Graph Question Answering, Before joining her Ph.D, she had a brief stint as a Researcher at TCS Research Labs, India.
