New paper on generating practical impact through research with digital trace dataGenerating Impactful Situated Explanations through Digital Trace Data

The paper "Generating Impactful Situated Explanations through Digital Trace Data" has been accepted for publiction in the Journal of Information Technology. A preprint is available here. The paper suggests five principles for how researchers can use digital trace data to develop situated explanations, that is, explanations that capture the idiosyncratic features of real-world problems in order to generate impactful solutions to these problems.
