Digital Innovation Lab
The Digital Innovation Lab
We are hosting and managing a Digital Innovation Coworking Space – a room at the university that offers people who are interested in realizing their business ideas the spatial and technological infrastructure needed for prototyping, product visualization, or preference measurement. For these purposes the coworking space is equipped with digital hardware such as 3D printers, 4K cameras, eye-tracking devices, high-performance computers, motherboards, and various other hard and software items. Our coworking space was originally funded as part of the Management Transfer Lab (MTL) funded through the EXIST program by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action as well as the European Social Fund, to promote and enact vital transfer between research, practice and society. We use the digital innovation lab to foster and support cross-faculty start-up activities by university actors and provides consultancy and mentoring services for our university startup teams. We also regularly teach in our coworking space (e.g., the course “Digital Innovation Lab”), and we use it for practice-oriented workshops as well as other transfer events.
Both the coworking space and the technology equipment in our Lab can be booked by students and prospective university entrepreneurs. Our online booking system provides an overview of rentable equipment.
