The team of the new Nucleus Professorship for Information Systems and Digital Innovation welcomes you to our website!
The Nucleus Professorship for Information Systems and Digital Innovation was established in April 2021, funded through the Excellence Strategy of the federal and state governments. We aim to strengthen the development of a key research area at the University of Hamburg that examines the role of digital innovation, digital transformation, and digital entrepreneurship to solving the grand research challenges of our time, such as sustainable development, circular economy, or climate change. We bring to this endeavor knowledge about digitalization and socio-technical thinking. We conduct rigourous international research within that topical range and look to disseminate our insights through teaching and transfer.
We offer a variety of courses to bachelor and master students that cover methodological as well as thematic aspects from the field of information systems, digital innovation and technology management. Furthermore, we welcome you to join our research in exciting student research projects – including through collaborations with external practice partners – for example as bachelor or master theses.
We belief in the key importance of a vital cooperation between scientific and non-scientific actors. Therefore, we aim at facilitating transfer between the university sphere, the economy and the broader society. In line with the fields of research at our professorship, we are involved in facilitating digital innovation and founding by university actors, such as student start-up activities, and support these initiatives through networking, coaching, and mentoring.
