Announcement: Mallen Conference co-organized by research group
22 August 2018
The DFG research group will co-organize the upcoming Mallen Conference at the end of September. The Mallen Conference is an exclusive selective annual meeting of global leading scholars who are excited by the business and economics of film and the industry professionals that pull the strings in that industry. This year’s edition of the Mallen Conference marks the 20th anniversary of the conference series and brings the conference to Europe for the first time.
One of our lead researchers Thorsten Hennig-Thurau (University of Münster) together with Janis Funk (FilmUniversity Babelsberg) will co-host the conference, which takes place at the Film University Babelsberg from 27th to 28th September. During the two-day program, the conferences focus current developments within the movie industry. A special part of the program will be the workshop “Creating & Managing Filmed Entertainment in the Digital Era”. Hereby, scholars and managers are supposed to work in groups and develop first attempts with the aim to publish the result in the long-term. Additionally, the conference is accompanied by an attractive side program, including a tour in the film studios of Babelsberg and a “where-the-wall-was” tour in Berlin.
