In April, the DFG research unit hosted the second virtual workshop of 2021.
The participants had the opportunity to listen to and discuss three insightful presentations. First, we were happy to welcome Prof. Dokyun “DK” Lee from Tepper School of Business, CMU who presented his work "InnoVAE: Using Generative AI to Identify Breakthrough Innovation". Next, Carolin Haiduk, PhD student from the University of Hamburg, presented her joint work with Thomas Schreiner and Prof. Timo Mandler on "The Impact of Pre-Release Consumer Buzz Dynamics on New Product Success". Lastly, Keno Tetzlaff and Jochen Hartmann from the University of Hamburg presented their joint work with Prof. Mark Heitmann and Jasper Schwenzow on "Comparing Automated Image Classification Methods". Overall, these three talks sparked engaging discussions among the more than 20 workshop participants.
The next DFG workshop will take place on Friday, July 9.
