The course introduces you to the contents of your B.Sc. curriculum. It provides a profound and solution-focused overview on the different functions of business that correspond with the majors offered at UHH. We illustrate this content with exciting and future-oriented examples on
· Digital Transformation and Hybrid Eco-Systems (e.g. TEMU, SHEIN)
· Startups – newly founded firms
· AI – latest Artificial Intelligence Solutions
· Sustainability – systematic implementation of sustainable business solutions
On all these topics we will welcome corporate representatives and founders to listen to their business ideas and discuss them together.
Academic Objectives:
The students are enabled to systematically acquire the central assumptions and concepts of the modern academic economic research in the context of entrepreneurial questions as well as critically reflect them by means of selected case studies.
Tutorial – Case Studies:
The tutorials cover two case studies on AI and sustainability. Students will solve them in small teams and present their findings for discussion. This case study work serves as an introduction to independent scientific work. Case studies are divided into Type A and B. Case Studies of Type A are covered during the tutorial.
Case Studies of type B:
Students solve this case study independently at home.
Results will not be submitted and there are no sample solutions available.
The content of the case study is relevant for the final exam. The tasks on this case study account for 1/3 of the final exam.
