Tijmen Jansen is a doctoral candidate and research assistant at the Chair of Marketing & Customer Insights at the University of Hamburg since May 01, 2022. Tijmen obtained his dual master’s degree in Marketing Management and Marketing Analytics and Data Science at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. His joint master’s thesis aimed at understanding the cycle of point for reward redemption within loyalty programs.
After completing his master, Tijmen gained more research experience while working as lecturer and researcher at the University of Groningen. His research aimed at understanding the interplay of offline and online sales in omni-channel strategies considering spatial factors and influences.
He is particularly interested in changing customer behavior and decisions and guiding sustainable behavior. His current research area focusses on the investigation of machine learning algorithms processing unstructured data in marketing.
