Curriculum Vitae
Leonard Rackowitz is a Post-Doctoral Researcher (Habilitand, Assistant Professor equivalent) at the Chair of Marketing & Media at the University of Hamburg. In his research, he focuses on social influence in digital markets, for example through word of mouth or trend display. Furthermore, he is interested in the effects of the digital transformation of the music industry. His current projects include the influence of playlist salience in music streaming apps on streams and the drivers of skipping behavior. He holds a diploma (M.Sc. equivalent) in Business Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and a Ph.D. (Dr. rer. oec.) with Summa Cum Laude (with highest distinction) in Business Administration from the University of Hamburg. He completed parts of his education in Spain and the USA. Prior to his Ph.D., he gained several years of international professional experience as a Senior Consultant at Simon-Kucher & Partners in Cologne as well as at Hugo Boss in Metzingen and Procter & Gamble in Geneva.
