On 11 July 2025, the graduation ceremony for the business administration programmes took place in the main building of the University of Hamburg. 35 bachelor's and 45 master's graduates received their graduation certificates from programme director Wolfgang Brüggemann, professor of operations research, in the presence of their companions and relatives from the Business School.

The keynote speech was given by Dean Petra Steinorth, Professor of Risk Management and Insurance, on the development curve of self-confidence, knowledge and experience based on the Dunning-Kruger effect. The President of the University of Hamburg, Prof. Dr. Hauke Heekeren, offered his congratulations in virtual greetings. Michel Clement, Professor of Marketing and Media, moderated the programme, presenting linguistic curiosities from students and appealing to them to keep their feet on the ground despite their professional success. Mara Lisann Haß, M.Sc., gave a closing speech on behalf of the graduates, calling on her former fellow students to be proud of their achievements – now and in the future.
The award for outstanding achievements in the field of ethics, responsibility and sustainability (ERS), traditionally presented at the graduation ceremony, was presented by Kai Wuttke, Partner ESG & Sustainability at Forvis Mazars: "I am delighted that we are able to reward students who engage with ethical and sustainability issues with the ERS Award for their work. As an environmental scientist myself, this award is particularly close to my heart." The global auditing and consulting firm has been sponsoring the award, which is endowed with 500 euros per winner, since the 2023/24 winter semester. The winners were Laura Wolf, M.Sc., for her thesis ‘Gender Stereotypes and Careers – An Empirical Analysis’ and Lasse Radmer, B.Sc., for his thesis ‘The Influence of CSR Committees on the Publication and Auditing of Sustainability Information.’ CSR stands for corporate social responsibility.
Musical accompaniment was provided by two business administration alumni, Antonia Alves Schlünzen on vocals and Henry Teichert on piano.
The graduates were able to round off the evening in perfect weather with photos in front of the main building and later with their guests at a champagne reception.
The next graduation ceremony will take place on 23 January 2026.
