Faculty presented EQUIS accreditation certificate

Faculty of Business Administration Dean Prof. Henrik Sattler and Representative for Accreditation Prof. Karen Gedenk are awarded the EQUIS accreditation certificate by EFMD President Eric Cornuel and Director Alfons Sauquet.

Faculty of Business Administration Dean Prof. Henrik Sattler and Representative for Accreditation Prof. Karen Gedenk were in Bologna in June to receive the official EQUIS accreditation certificate.

In October last year, the Faculty became only the seventh German business school to be awarded EQUIS accreditation, one of two leading accreditations for business schools around the world.

Certification was awarded after an intensive and comprehensive external review in June 2023, and covered all aspects of the Faculty, including governance and strategy, degree programs, student body, academic staff, research, administration, internationalization, ethics and sustainability, and connections with practice partners.

“We were obviously delighted to have been awarded EQUIS accreditation,” Dean Prof. Henrik Sattler says. “We are very pleased that we started this process in 2019. We have identified strengths and weaknesses and have developed a focused 5-year strategy. Together, we have already implemented a number of positive changes in the faculty. And with this positive energy, we will continue to move forward and to develop further.”

Accreditation is awarded by the nonprofit European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). The next review will be held in 2026.
