The University of Hamburg Business School is pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Hubert Dichtl as Section 17 professor in the focus area finance, banking and insurance.
Prof. Dr. Dichtl studied business administration at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and computer science at Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences. In 2000, he received his doctorate from the University of Bremen and completed his Habilitation at the University of Hamburg in 2017. One year later, he was appointed Privatdozent. Since then, Prof. Dr. Dichtl has been teaching the master’s course Asset Management II at the University of Hamburg Business School every summer semester. From the upcoming Winter Semester, Prof. Dr. Dichtl will also offer the bachelor’s lecture Derivative Financial Instruments.
Prof. Dr. Dichtl conducts research on methodological and practical asset management problems. His work was published in renowned academic journals, including the Journal of Banking & Finance; the Financial Analysts Journal; the Journal of Portfolio Management; the International Review of Financial Analysis; the Journal of Behavioral Finance; the Review of Financial Economics; and the Finance Research Letters.
In addition to his academic work, Prof. Dr. Dichtl is managing director of dichtl research & consulting GmbH, which was founded in 2017 and focuses on advising for institutional investors.
After his many years of teaching as a successful Privatdozent, the University of Hamburg Business School is delighted to officially welcome its new Section 17 professor Prof. Dr. Dichtl.
