The Nucleus Professorship for Information Systems and Digital Innovation invites students and staff from across all faculties to a guest lecture by the company Olsen. Participants will learn how AI can restructure entire processes, from the design of a garment to its sale in a store.
The Hamburg-based fashion company Olsen demonstrates how artificial intelligence (AI) can revolutionize processes across an entire company. The Nucleus Professorship for Information Systems and Digital Innovation, held by Prof. Jan Recker, invites students and staff from all departments and faculties to a presentation by this globally active company.
CEO Michael Simon and Head of IT Clemens Grönnert will discuss how AI is used in their company: Olsen has completely transformed its fashion design process. For example, blouse designs, patterns, and colors are combined on an AI platform. Even the models are AI avatars, and sample collections and showrooms are now digital. Only at the end of the digital process is the pattern created, which is then tailored and sold in stores.
“Olsen is currently reinventing itself as a leading player in the fields of data, digital technology, and AI,” says digital expert Recker. “In this lecture, our students will gain insights into AI-based product and process innovations that are, in the truest sense of the word, right before their eyes.”
The event will take place as part of the “Technology and Innovation Management” Lecture on October 20 at 4:15 p.m. in Lecture Hall WiWi A (Von-Melle-Park 5).
Seating is limited. Those interested can register at: isdi-teamassistenz.bwl"AT"uni-hamburg.de
