On 25 February, it was Unitag at the University of Hamburg: School students were invited to catch a glimpse of degree programs and university life.
The bachelor’s degree programs in business administration (University of Hamburg Business School) and industrial engineering (University of Hamburg and University of Applied Sciences, HAW) each had a stand in the foyer of Von-Melle-Park 5, from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. Professors, degree program coordinators, and members of the student representative committee gave advice to school students, who had flocked to the foyer before the official kickoff.
In addition, a 45-minute event in the Audimax for both degree programs provided more detailed insights. In the packed lecture hall, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Brüggemann, program director of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and Olivia Schubert, business administration student, talked from their own perspectives.
Prof. Dr. Guido Voigt from the University of Hamburg Business School, program director and chair of the joint committee for the master’s programs, and Prof. Dr. Martin Garbrecht, HAW department head and chair of the joint committee for the bachelor’s programs introduced the cross-university industrial engineering program.
Prof. Dr. Voigt says: “I was delighted to introduce the industrial engineering program. The pupils showed great interest and the Audimax was full. It is wonderful to see how young people of all genders are excited about the opportunities this degree program offers. I look very much forward to welcoming newcomers to the HWI program to collaborate on innovative technology solutions for the challenges of tomorrow!”
