EURO Excellence in Practice Award 2021Two of six finalists come from the Faculty

The Faculty has two finalists in the Association of European Operational Research Societies’ Excellence in Practice Award 2021 for top research with a clear practical application.

The two teams are:

  • Prof. Dr. Stefan Voss, Dr. Leonard Heilig (both from the Institute of Information Systems), and Prof. Dr. Eduardo Lalla-Ruiz (Faculty of Behavioural, Management and Social Sciences, University of Twente): “Intelligent Truck Drayage Dispatching and Appointment Booking: A real-world application in the Port of Hamburg (Germany)”, and
  • Prof. Dr. Knut Haase and Dr. Matthes Koch (both from the Institute for Transport Economics), Prof. Dr. Sven Müller (Professor for Operations Management, Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg), and Matthias Kasper (TU Dresden): “A Pilgrim Scheduling Approach to Increase Safety during the Hajj“.
