Two Faculty doctoral graduates were awarded prizes at the European Marketing Academy Conference (EMAC) earlier this month.
Dr. Kai Widdecke – supervised by Prof. Dr. Karen Gedenk – won best dissertation for his thesis on the effect of order kiosks on consumer purchasing behavior.
Dr. Jochen Hartmann was part of a team that won the EMAC-Sheth Foundation Sustainability Award. In their research on “The Business Value of Diversity“, the team – Dr. Hartmann, Prof. Dr. Oded Netzer (Columbia University, New York, USA) and Rachel Zalta (Content Discovery Platform “Taboola”) – analyzed the supply and demand of digital advertising over time, and especially around the time of #BlackLivesMatter protests in 2020. Their early findings suggest that diversity in advertising pays off financially.
An international jury selected the winners.
