The maximum amount of 250 Euro/year per doctoral candidate/early career researcher cannot be exceeded, but it can be split for different projects:

Funding for doctoral courses

• for doctoral students enrolled at the University of Hamburg Business School (postdocs and junior professors are not entitled to apply for funding);
• condition: must have completed at least two doctoral courses (methods or specialization) at our Business School, each of which valuing minimum 2 credit points;
• the content of the completed courses at our Business School must not correspond with the content of the course you apply for funding for;
• the course must be creditable within the structured doctoral program.

Funding for conferences

• condition: must be making a presentation (no funding is available without a presentation);
• max. 250 EUR/year/person.

For data sets, transcription, proofreading

• for all doctoral students of our Business School enrolled at UHH;
• condition: there are no similar data sets available via Business School-financed licenses
• max. EUR 125/year/person.

There is no Business School funding for:

• research stays,
• costs for publication,
• external lecturers,
• those on leave without pay.

In case you need only part of the funds granted: Please notify us immediately in order to re-distribute funds to other research projects.
