Im November 2024 reiste Dr. Lucas Göbeler im Rahmen eines vom DAAD geförderten Projektes „Amateur Esports and Health“ zum internationalen Austausch nach Hong Kong.
Successful International Exchange – In November 2024, Lucas Göbeler, a postdoc at University of Hamburg Business School under Prof. Jan Recker, Nucleus Professor for Information Systems and Digital Innovation, traveled to Hong Kong as part of a DAAD supported project aimed at promoting international scientific collaboration.
The joint research team of the project "Amateur Esports and Health: An Integrated Participation Framework," Lucas Göbeler, Xiaobo Ke (Shue Yan University Hong Kong), and Prof. Christian Wagner (City University Hong Kong) are working together to develop a framework for health promotion among mass gamers and humans with a pronounced sedentary lifestyle.
In addition to his research work, Lucas Göbeler was invited to give a guest lecture on "Hybrid Sports – Digital Innovation through Resource Integration" at Shue Yan University. The lecture discussed how our understanding of sports is changing through the use of digital technologies, such as the emergence of new hybrid sports like Virtual Cycling or Sim Racing. The event provided a successful platform for exchanging scientific experiences.
The DAAD annually supports project-based collaboration in research between German and foreign research teams that work together on a current topic at eye level, complementing each other's expertise. This binational collaboration leads to a transfer of knowledge and creates added value for both sides.
